Leith Fully Detailed: Leith Porsche

LeithFullyDetailedOn Mondays our series is Leith Fully Detailed, a weekly look at one of our 33 dealerships and its unique history. Some of our dealerships were started in the early 70s, which means that there is a lot of history to be gleaned and many lessons we’ve learned over the years. Put simply, if you’re in a line of business for a few decades, you learn about your area, your product and your people, all of which makes you wiser.

The dealership we’re looking at today is Leith Porsche, home to a very fine brand from Germany that’s regarded as one of the best automakers in the world. As an official representative of Porsche, this dealership enjoys a special relationship with the Stuttgart, Germany-based company. Leith Porsche began in 1980, shortly before Porsche brought on German-American Peter Schutz to lead the company.

Schutz is remembered as the man who saved the 911, which was slated to end production in 1981 and be replaced by a V-8 grand sportswagon (the 928). Thanks to Schutz’s leadership, the company recommitted itself to the 911 and made big improvements in the following years. This revitalization prompted a resurgence of sales in the U.S. and preserved the iconic sports car at a crucial moment.

Today Leith Porsche carries on that mantle with the Boxster, Cayman, 911, Cayenne, Panamera, and very soon, the Macan. It’s been exciting to see different models come and go over the years as Porsche always seeks to make their cars better, while holding onto what made them great in the first place.

Our showroom houses the finest new models from Germany so that you can get inside the best Porsche offers. We have a meeting room with samples of dozens of exterior finishes and interior trims, which makes building your own Porsche an intimate and exciting experience. And our service department is staffed by Porsche-certified technicians with official equipment to keep your Porsche operating in the manner it was meant to.

We’d be pleased if you stopped by Leith Porsche to inspect our dealership at your convenience, or perhaps attended our monthly Cars & Coffee event, which is always open to new visitors. We’d love to meet you!
