The Mission E is Porsche\u2019s pinewood derby car in the race for electric-vehicle dominance &#8211; all we can hope is that it\u2019s as good as they\u2019re claiming it will be.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Porsche\u2019s promises<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">When announced, the Mission E came with some very bold claims. First off, the production version will come with 600 horsepower. That power will carry it from 0-60mph in under 3.5 seconds, and past 120mph less than 12 seconds. The top speed will be roughly 150mph, and the Mission E will have a range of more than 300 miles on a single charge. But their most amazing claim, is that it will take less than 15 minutes for an 80% charge. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Or so they say.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2168 size-large\" src=\"#BLOGPATH#\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Porsche-Mission-E-2-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"Porsche Mission E\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The interior<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The video above gives us a good idea of what the Mission E\u2019s interior will look like, and how it will function. Hand gesture and eye recognition software are just a few of the technologies we can expect to see in the Mission E by launch date. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">How does the Mission E compare to other EVs?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Lets start with the basics. The Porsche Mission E claims to be the first electric sports car, but Tesla\u2019s P90D on \u201cLudicrous\u201d mode &#8211; which goes 0-60mph in 2.85 seconds &#8211; would beg to differ. Currently, with Tesla\u2019s quickest charging time, it takes roughly an hour to charge the vehicle. The Mission E is claiming a charge time of under 15 minutes. That\u2019s a big difference. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">We\u2019ll have to wait until 2020 to see how the Mission E really compares to other vehicles.
