The plug-in hybrid version gets 95\/81 MPGe, too. Made at Ford\u2019s Wayne plant in Michigan, the C-Max hybrid and C-Max Energi are Ford\u2019s most environmentally friendly vehicles \u2013 and they\u2019re American-made! Why should you care? The C-Max starts at $24,170, which is less than the Chevy Volt and the Toyota Prius V. Car and Driver says \u201cThe C-Max and the C-Max Energi drive very well for hybrids, and they very nearly feel like ordinary vehicles.\u201d<\/p>\n

That\u2019s because the C-Max is powered by a 2.0-liter hybrid-electric powertrain that produces 188 horsepower. It\u2019s no Mustang, but it\u2019s got plenty of pep compared to most hybrids – more than enough for the increasingly busy streets and highways of the Triangle.<\/p>\n

Car and Driver also says that the C-Max\u2019s cabin is \u201ccomfortable, with plenty of headroom and a nice, tall seating position.\u201d There\u2019s room for 5 in the C-Max, as well as more than 50 cu. ft. of space when the second-row seats are folded down.<\/p>\n

Back in 2014 and 2015, it was named a Top Safety Pick by the IIHS, and the 2016 version comes standard with even more safety technology.<\/p>\n
