Watching air flow over a well-built vehicle is just mesmerizing. But the Ford GT tops them all. It\u2019s this year\u2019s 24 Hours of Le Mans 1<sup>st<\/sup> place finisher, and it\u2019s every bit as intelligent as it is fast.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-0hK7R6qSXU\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>As you\u2019ll see in the video above, the Ford GT is built around function. Each air intake serves a purpose. From the front vent, which channels air beneath the car and over the windshield, to the rear-wheel vents which intake air for the turbocharger. It\u2019s a unique feature on the Ford GT that most would probably assume to be as useless as those non-polarized Wayfarer sunglasses companies hand out like candy. Like we said, though, nothing on the Ford GT is useless.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>For anyone interested in learning more about the Ford GT<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>It\u2019s a 3.5L EcoBoost V6 that produces 600 horsepower. The body and chassis are mainly made out of carbon fiber, and Ford claims this gives the GT one of the best power to weight ratios in the world. We can\u2019t confirm this \u2013 since they haven\u2019t released the curb weight quite yet \u2013 but it must be pretty good to beat out every car in its class at Le Mans.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Want one?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>We\u2019re sorry to say that the 2017 Ford GT is no longer available to the public. They were accepting applications for purchase between 4\/13\/16 and 5\/12\/16, so if you\u2019re reading this while traveling back in time, bet everything you own on the Panthers losing the super bowl (if you live in Nevada, Oregon, Delaware, or Montana), and get your application ready.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s no word on whether there will be another round of Ford GT production once these lucky few have their GTs delivered, but we\u2019ll keep you posted as soon as we know.
