Thank goodness for music and auxiliary cables. Can you imagine how boring road trips would be if we only had the radio? We’d rather have our eyebrows waxed off than listen to “Photograph” by Nickelback ever again.
But unless you’re the kind of person who is constantly updating your music library, even your personal playlists can get a little repetitive. Luckily, if you can spare the data, there’s 8tracks.
For the record, this is NOT a promotion paid for by 8tracks, we just like the service
8tracks.com is a music-streaming service that allows users to build their own playlists and share them with the community. You can search these playlists by artist, genre, mood, activity, and practically anything else you can think to type into the search bar.
Much like Pandora, you only have 3 song-skips per playlist – the difference between 8tracks and Pandora is that you can see who made the playlist, how highly-rated it is, and your search options are much more diverse.
Playlists like “Songs that I’ll never skip,” “Chill Vibes For Sweet Rides,” and “ODESZA’s” are perfect for any road trip. However, if none of those are playing your tune, there’s thousands more playlists to choose from.
Better yet, if you just can’t seem to find that perfect playlist, take some time to make your own! That way you can have all the music you want without having to pay for a complete library-overhaul. That’s right – we forgot to mention that 8tracks is a completely free service.
So next time you’re saddling up for a road trip, be sure to download the free app and find whatever music is speaking to your soul at the time. One of our all-time favorites is “Oldies but Goodies” featuring “September” by Earth Wind and Fire.
Que the music!
