In the world of outdoor things, Cabela’s is an established name for hunting, fishing, camping, gun culture, and more, which is why we’re pleased as a deer under a full moon that the venerable brand is teaming up with RAM Trucks.
According to website Ammoland, a site with an American flag themed pistol on its main page, the partnership was announced from Cabela’s world headquarters in Sidney, Nebraska, a bustling city of 6,700 people named after Sidney Dillon, the one-time president of the Union Pacifica Railroad.
Being the official pickup truck of Cabela’s mainly means the two companies will support each other in the realm of events, giveaways, contests, sweepstakes, and something else the companies refer to “as more” which doesn’t necessarily not mean water-themed amusement parks.
Okay, so the idea of a water park might be a little far-fetched. But is it though? Pickup trucks and outdoor gear are pretty American categories, and there’s not much of a leap to connect those with the idea of loading up on fireworks (Fourth of July and all), and since fireworks are frequently deployed at or near amusement parks, there is definitely a mental trail of bread crumbs from RAM-themed water slides during the summer.
According to Cabela’s, “More than 80 percent of RAM owners list hunting, fishing, or camping among their most cherished hobbies,” and we know what you’re thinking: aren’t “statistics” and “data” and just fancy ways of tricking you into “learning”? Maybe, maybe not; we don’t know how to verify that in a numerical fashion.
What we do know is that it would sure be handy if every RAM truck came with a coupon to Cabela’s to get some outdoor gear. Or what if you could buy a pickup truck that already came with a package of gear according to what you liked to do? Or what if you could customize your truck with accessories from Cabela’s right at the dealership?
We haven’t developed these programs yet, but they do sound convenient to us. Would you like to see more Cabela’s integration at your Leith dealerships? Let us know on our Facebook page for LeithCars.com.
