WATCH: Ken Block Drifts Circles Around a Boeing 747

Ken Block, for those who don’t know, is a professional rally driver, co-founder of DC Shoes, and “Head Hoonigan in Charge” at his new company, Hoonigan Industries. He’s also completely mad.

The video is the eighth installment of Ken Block’s Gymkhana series. In these videos, Block dreams up a script of unbelievable scenarios, and then brings them to life. If you haven’t hit that play button yet, we strongly recommend you do so. You might even want to grab some popcorn.

The Car

In the video, Block is driving a highly modified Ford Fiesta – one that produces 650 horsepower and accelerates from 0-60 in 1.8 seconds (insert shocked emoji). That’s only .3 seconds behind the acceleration speed of NASA’s Saturn V rocket – you know, the one that powered Apollo 11 and put our astronauts on the moon.

We’ve got some Ford Fiestas too, but ours are street legal and pack less of a punch. Although, the turbocharged Ford Fiesta ST is a pretty sweet ride, and if that’s not fast enough, there’s always the Ford Focus RS!

The Driver

We said before that Ken Block is a professional driver, but he’s a lot more than that. He has been named one of the most influential people in sports by Sports Business Journal, he created the 4th most-viewed viral video of 2009, and he recently even released his first signature Ford vehicle. Ironically, it’s a “Ken Block” limited edition Ford Transit van.

Sure, a Ken Block edition Fiesta would’ve been pretty cool, but nobody expected him to slap his name on a van – and that’s why it’s awesome. Personally, we appreciate the juxtaposition.

More on Hoonigan Industries

Hoonigan Industries is Block’s new clothing company. They sell official Ken Block racing t-shirts, hats, hoodies, men’s underwear, and more. Hoonigan Industries also sponsors Ken Block’s World Rally Team, Hoonigan Racing Division. Wondering what a “Hoonigan” is? Their website describes a Hoonigan as: “a person who operates a motor vehicle in an aggressive and unorthodox manner, consisting of, but not limited to, drifting, burnouts, doughnuts, as well as acts of automotive aeronautics. One who hoons.”

So, are you a hoonigan?
