This Lego Porsche 911 Costs $300 and Comes in 2,700 Pieces

Didn’t you love Legos as a kid? That’s rhetorical, of course you did. How about Porsches? That’s not rhetorical, but there’s only one correct answer.

Lego Porsche 911

If you answered yes to either question, allow us to persuade you into buying this $300, 2700-piece Lego Porsche 911 GT3 RS. We know what you’re thinking, “Legos are for kids and I don’t have the time for that. Plus, there’s no way I’m going into a store to buy Legos.”

First of all, Legos are for everyone. Second, if you watch the video above you’ll see that these are adult Legos. And third, if you’re embarrassed to buy Legos in a store, there’s this nifty website called Amazon.com you should check out.

Come on

Just imagine how much fun it’d be to set aside some time for a few weeks and challenge yourself. Building the Porsche 911 GT3 RS won’t be easy, but it will be rewarding. Plus, you won’t find a cooler desk decoration.

Lego built the model on a 1:8 scale, and packed in an engine, a steering column, and a working suspension beneath its plastic body. Amazingly, those components are made up of moving parts that actually function. Turning the steering wheel will actually turn the wheels, and if you push the car forward, the engine gears will spin with it.

It’s pretty awesome

So, if you’ve got $300 to spend and you’re looking for a challenge, we’d recommend this 911 GT3 RS. It’s not the same as tinkering with a real 911 in the garage, but it’s a fun project if you’re into building.

Alternatively, you could just watch the video and share it with your friends. 2,700 piece Lego sets are not for the faint of heart.
