We’ve all been there – cruising through an endless sea of cars in search of an open spot; swearing at mini-coopers and mopeds for getting our hopes up, and praying that the parking-gods will us send a blessing. It’s a waiting game many of us are tired of playing.
So imagine our excitement when we heard about the 2017 Mercedes Benz E 300, a semi-autonomous vehicle with self-parking technology. Listen above as automotive journalist Mark Arsen experiences this new feature first hand – or should we say, with no hands.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. In episode 6(c), Mark Arsen explores the “Drive Pilot” mode in the E 300. When activated, this technology will maintain a safe following distance between you and the car in front of you. It will brake, accelerate, come to a full stop at a red light, and then continue on once the light turns green again. It’s incredible technology that you’ll want to go experience.
And we hope you do! Setting up a test drive is easy at Mercedes-Benz of Cary or Mercedes-Benz of Raleigh. So go ahead, live a little – let the car do the driving for you, and find out for yourself what autonomous driving is all about.
