There is no limit to what you can do at VIRginia International Raceway (VIR). It doesn’t stop with just racing. There’s even more! From karts, off-road courses and trails to shooting ranges and skeet shooting, there is an abundance of activities to take part in.
Test your skills at the shooting range. One of VIR’s experienced instructors will guide you through the experience. Seven ranges are available at VIR varying from 50 to 1,000 yards, plus a Tactical Training Complex complete with a simulated urban environment, live fire house and classroom. Participants of all experiences are invited and welcomed, from beginner to skilled. Try your hand at semi-automatic handguns, rifles, long guns and more.
If skeet shooting is more up your alley, then you’re in luck. VIR offers that as well. There are two National Skeet Shooting Association approved ranges on site. VIR works with you to give you the experience you’re looking for.
Ready, Set, Go-kart! Put the pedal to the metal at the state-of-the-art VIR Kart Track. Powered by ungoverned Honda GX 270cc motors, these karts take you to speeds in excess of 50 mph. Go full throttle on this 5/8 mile, 24-foot-wide paved circuit. The VIR Kart Track is open to the public or by appointment certain times and days. There are driver requirements, so be sure to check out details here.
Discover firsthand just exactly what your vehicle is capable of doing when you take it on the off-road obstacle course at VIR. This course is the same one military vehicles run through, so you know this is legit. Start off with the rock obstacle, then next hit the logs. The course also includes hills, stairs, ditches, water holes and slide slopes. Rocky roads, mud running and water splashing. You name it, it’s there. Buckle up and conquer the challenge of the off-road course.
